Civil War Correspondence

The Civil War was very different from normal life for the soldiers in the army.  If there wasn't a bloody battle to fight, full of the screaming whines of passing bullets and the cries of dying friends, there was nothing to do.  Boredom was a very real problem for these men.  To pass the time, and as a distraction against the horrors they were witnessing, the soldiers would write letters home nearly every day.  They would write to spouses and/or girlfriends, parents, and, sometime, their children.  As part of the project you will be required to write letters home from the battlefield, and you will be required to return letters that have been written to you.

Find the comment below that lists your Soldier ID name.  Every letter you send with be in the form of a reply to this comment.  You will be required to write one letter every week - starting with today. Write a letter home telling how you've just joined the army and a little about what has happened to you so far.  Then, just wait for your family to reply!

Please remember to keep your letters historically accurate and appropriate.
